Following people and organizations
Follow the people and orgs you care about, and the platform shapes itself around your interests — your follows are the raw material for everything personalized.
How it works
- Follow a person from their profile page; follow an organization from its page. One tap on, one tap off, no approval needed for public profiles.
- Following a private profile sends a request instead — they approve, then you follow (Private profile). Your button tells you which happened: Following or Requested.
- When two people follow each other, that's a Connection — the handshake that opens direct messages and connections-only content. Orgs are follow-only: followed, never "friended".
- Your follow list is yours to review and prune any time — one page holds it all: follows, followers, requests both ways.
- Following is quiet — it's a declaration of interest, not a subscription to noise. What you follow influences what surfaces for you; it doesn't flood your inbox.
What following gets you
- The product uses your follows to bring the right things forward — the people whose posts you see first, the orgs whose announcements find you, the results and updates that matter to you specifically. As SportsCore grows new surfaces, your follow graph is what powers "your" version of them — build it as you go and every future feature arrives pre-personalized.
Good habits
- Follow generously early — it costs nothing, it's invisible noise-wise, and it teaches the platform who matters to you.
Did you know? Follows work on organizations, not just people — following your league or your gym means its public life flows toward you, no membership required.
