How private are my messages?

Short answer: your messages are encrypted on their way to us and away from us, they are never sold or mined for ads, and the platform can read them for exactly two reasons — keeping the community safe, and delivering your messages to the apps you connect.

We'd rather tell you precisely how it works than hand you a vague reassurance.

The plain facts

In transit, everything is encrypted. Nobody on the network between you and SportsCore can read your messages.
At rest, the platform can read them. Your conversations are transport-encrypted, platform-readable. This is a deliberate design, not an oversight, and it exists for two features you can see and use:
- Moderation that actually works. When someone reports abuse, a human (or the platform) can review what was actually said. End-to-end encrypted systems cannot do this — reports become your word against theirs.
- Your messages, in your apps. Connecting Telegram (or other apps) to your conversations means the platform re-renders your messages into that app. It can't forward what it can't read.
We never claim end-to-end encryption; we do claim in-transit encryption. If you need E2E-grade secrecy for a conversation, use a dedicated E2E messenger for it — honestly stated, no hard feelings.
Connected apps add their own terms. A message bridged to Telegram travels the Telegram network under that network's own privacy terms. You choose per app whether that trade is worth it — and you can unpair any time.

What this never means

Your DMs are never shown to other users, org owners, or moderators unless a participant reports the conversation — a report snapshots the reported content for review.
Your messages are never used for advertising, profiling, or sale.
Blocking someone is silent — they are never told, and they simply stop reaching you.

Good habits

Treat the visibility dial on your profile and posts as the public/private line — those are the things strangers can see. Messages are private to their participants (plus the safety window above).

Did you know? Reported content is preserved as it was at the moment of the report — deleting a message after the fact doesn't erase what a reviewer sees. Abuse can't be memory-holed, and neither can your evidence of it.
